What would sound better?
What would sound better?
I have the stock manifolds with a pipe in place of the cat and the stock 2.25" intermediate pipe with an 80 series flowmaster. Would the hooker cat back sound better or is the 3" intermediate pipe to big? Also i don't know if the hooker cat back sounds good with no cat?
Thanks for any help.

It will definately sound better with a 3" pipe, sorry but I have a cat on mine so I don't know how well it will sound. You'll be fine with 3".

yo man i live in L.I.N.Y. also
i have an 89 trans am
i have an exhaust system that sounds really sick and load
also performs very well
on my 305 i have flowtech headers and there y-pipe 2.5" pipe in place of cat, on my car the stock intermediate is 2.75" so i did not want to change it besides if the y-pipe has only a 2.5" outlet why go bigger then that it makes no sence
but i have a flowmaster 80 stuck on the end of that
it is great and sets of car alarms all day
by the way where do you live

Hey jerflash, I'm from the Holtsville/Holbrook area. So the flowtech headers sound good? I was thinking about getting those but i don't know what to do about the air tubes that go into the manifolds? How did u pass emissions?

i dont pass emitions i took all the smog Sh*t off and i give the dude nere my $60 instead of $35 and he runs another car on the machine inplace of my car like a honda and guess what i pass
if you go up the the guy doing the tests
dont go to the front desk and say "I know my car will not pass so you think you can pass it for me and give him the $60 of the hole job
emitions suck
and they sound bad ***
if you take your cat off and put a flowmaster 80 you will sound like i real muscle car even if we have only 305 but mine has the power of a 350
look at my 1/4 mile time
yo holtsvill is where that car show is right
do you live off of sunrise
i love in the 5 towns area like around lymbrook and lawrence

Yea the car show is in holtsville at the P.A.L. fields and theres the one at Bald Hill. I live like 3 blocks from the L.I.E. and within walking distance of that car show at the PAL fields. I took my cat off and put the pipe in place of it and it sounds awsome most of the time but sometimes it sounds kinda like a hollow type sound but i think i might have an exhaust leak where the manifolds connect to the y-pipe or it might be coming from somewhere near the cat and that might be causing the sound, but then again i dont know.

Just saw all the LI posts. I'm in Patchogue and once I get done with school I'll be up at Bald Hill every tuesday night. What nights are the shows in the P.A.L. complex?
