SLP headers and full exhaust...cheap!

Well, I am selling the SLP setup. It is the 1 3/4" ss headers, y-pipe, brand new 3" high flow cat, and slp 3" cat back (2 on the left). I have gone to full leingth headers, custom y-pipe and 4" exhaust, so this system is just taking up space in my garage. This is the complete SLP setup, It is all stainless. You will need to purchase the SLP instalation kit, that will have all the necessary gaskets for the instalation. This exhaust will need to be welded it was welded in on my car, and cut out when the shop installed my new exhaust. I will let everything go for $250+ shipping. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this setup.

I am interested! Email me at gte805i@prism.gatech.edu. Just wondering, is that a dent on the y-pipe?

Well, I was wondering how much you gained going to the long tubes, but I guess your results would probably be just a bit different since your not naturally aspirated. Well anyway, I am still curios how much a difference it made for you. Also, which kind of long tubes did you get. Are they hookers. What kinds of problems did you have with the install?

What he said. Also how difficult is the installation. Any clearance issues?

I have recently answered about 2000 e-mails regarding this exhaust setup, and it is still sitting here in my garage! I am going to answer some of the questions that have been asked in these e-mails, and give all the details about this system.
- This system consists of the SLP 1 3/4" stainless steel headers, that do not have air tubes. They do have the bung for an o2 sensor. The headers are NOT coated. I took the headers to work, and media blasted them. That is why they have a "new" appearing finish.
- The Y-pipe is the SLP stainless steel Y-pipe that comes with the headers, but it has been modified. We found the collector to be a restriction, so it was modified with a 4" collector to increase flow. The "dimple" you see in the collector is there to give clearance.
- After the "modified" y-pipe, it enters a 3" high flow cat. This converter is brand new. I purchased it to use for inspection, and it sat on a shelf for about a year.
-The cat back is an SLP stainless steel 2 on the left setup. It was welded on the car when it was installed, and was recently removed by the shop that installed my 4" setup. It will need to be re-welded into whatever vehicle it is to be used on. Since it was welded onto my car, it had to be cut off.
-With this exhaust system on the car, (and MANY other mods) I ran a best of 10.97 @126.3 mph. This system works, and works well!
I would prefer not to separate the system, and I will only answer questions posted on this board. Please, no more e-mails
I will ship anywhere in the US for $30.00, So that is $280.00 for a complete exhaust system, shipped to your door! Any takers? I will accept PayPal if anyone wants to use a credit card.
Thanks for your time, Don Barnett

IROCZTWENTYGR8,
This setup was on my 88 Formula 350. I had extensive motor and head work, coupled with a Vortech s-trim pushing 16psi, Non-intercooled boost. A lot of time, and the right combination of parts. That's what it takes to go fast!

3" exhaust was okay to 10.97? Would something a little bigger have dropped the time, or is that the reason you are switching? Just curious.

Thanks,

johnsjj2,
I truly believe there was more power left in the setup, had I put an intercooler on, and increased the timing. I recently changed the setup, and the heads i have gone to have 1 15/16" ports for the exhaust. I now have a 2" primary header, with a stahl patern. I am looking to push over 900hp with my new setup, and do NOT think this exhaust would be adequate. I have also ditched the TPI setup for something less conventional.

Who made the headers? When will you get to run it? Oh, and how much hp were you making do you know?

Momar,
I have no idea how much hp I was making, I never got the car on the dyno. The headers I have now are Headman Hustler headers. They are available in 1 7/8" primary, and can be special ordered with 2" primary's. The car should be completed in or around June.

If anything falls through and you still have the exhaust for sale i'll take it. Plus i live in New Castle and could just drive by and pick it up.

Thanks,
Jason

I seriosly considered buying it, but I am going with long tubes. I saw that and realized it was a great price. The headers by themselves cost over 400 new.

Tell me about it! I just couldn't say no when he posted and said he still hadn't sold them yet...... When I first saw this post I figured it would get snapped up faster than a cheeseburger at an Ethiopian refugee camp!

exhaust for sale

As of 4/14 is it sold???
If not i am interested

also can anyone tell me more about the long tube headers? are they emmissions legal? I am building a rollercam afr 383 that would make a good 450 HP with conventional headers and carb, but i am handicapped with the ( sit down ) electronic Q jet!!! I am in New york and must pass emissions. Is there a "bolt on" long tube header setup for these cars? Is it legal ( O2 sensor and air tubes) ? I have a set of SLP 1 3/4 headers waiting but i need an exhaust and wouldn't mind some extra massaged parts.

Thanks this web site is a godsend!!!
