Hooker Cat Back

Hello, I just purchesed an 1989 Camaro RS with the 5.0 305 and want to get a cat back exhaust for it. I was wondering if anyone has the same or similar car with a Hooker cat back exhaust on it and might have an opinion or sound clip. ***, I never thought it would be confussing picking out an exhaust system lol

Hooker is a good choice, nice sound. Mark Shields has a sound clip. I'm sure he'll post here eventually.

TADA

Sound clip is in the signature, and that's with a non hi-flo cat. By 3rd gear the wind distorts the sound.

The tips don't make the noise, it may help some how, but the muffler and bigger pipe make the sound.
As far as the tips, I don't get what everyone talks about, they're chrome just like anything else, you gotta keep em maintained, put wax on them like once a week. Course in between the tips, is hard to get to and takes a little more work.

Hey Mark...where did you mount your tach. I've had a 5in Auto Meter tach with shift lite for a while but I haven't found a place I'd like to mount it yet.

Thanks Mark, the clip really helped, I know what people were talking about with tips, I had a 89 thunderbird that did the same thing, had to have new ones welded on and had to clean them allot or they would start to haze up pretty bad. I think I am gonna go with the hooker cat-back though, from what I know they are a decent exhaust system, now its just a matter of finding a good price for them lol thanks for the help everyone!

Bought my Hooker for $200, though I hear in LA they're cheaper.
Here's a tach pic. Doesn't block view at all.

Thanks Mark. I like that idea, might try it. BTW your interior looks exactly like mine. Same door panels, same western auto seat covers, same shifter. LOL

Actually I just got rid of the seat covers, they started to look bad, all torn and stuff.

I have one and it's alright. It feels and seems kinda cheap though. The nice thing is it was made just for our cars so it's easy to install.
One of these days I'm gonna try and put a Quarter Stick in it. I'll have to make some kind of custom console plate.

I love the shifter looks good and performs well, I've heard some horror stories, but I'm sure when installed correctly it works just fine. Way better than the stock shifter, no more redline in N, that's why I have a 350 now.

Yeah...WAY BETTER THAN STOCK!!!! I think it was only like a hundred bucks or something too. I just really want a quarter stick. My dad has one in his 67 pickup and I LOVE IT!!!!!!

I don't think they make Quarter Sticks for a 4spd auto, do they?

Their listing says it works with most 2, 3, and 4 speed autos. So I'm hoping they do.

Actually I thought the previous owner did it, cause I think he said something about how he had to make that black part that the speaker sits in. Not sure though. Looks like a 6" speaker.
