Exhaust for my V6

Hey guys, I want to have a louder exhaust on my 92 RS 3.1L V6. Its pretty loud now because the muffler is rusted out, it sounds good but I want it to be deeper. I was thinking about the dynomax super turbo cat-back exhaust. But I don't think its worth getting the full cat-back on a V6. Is there any other muffler that sounds similar to the Dynomax super turbo muffler? I want the turbo muffler, but its a single inlet/single outlet, i want a dual outlet.

Thanks, Ted

the 2.5" dynomax catback should be good for your car.

well see I just want to spend like $70-$80 for just a muffler, i want the loudness and rumble, but I don't feel like spending $160, then installation for a V6. I'm only in high school and money is tight. (I do have enough for a good stereo system though...lol)

price of a muffler + installation is gonna get close to the price of a catback anyway. If you get the catback you can do it yourself. check www.jcwhitney.com for catbacks. Maybe they have a better deal.

There you have it. If you can't afford the entire system just get the muffler.

If I get just the muffler, will my exhaust be equally as loud as if I had the full cat-back?

No, but it'll be an improvement. The 2 1/4 pipes are OK for a V6 anyway.

Check out www.summitracing.com. They have pretty competitive pricing, and best of all, free shipping. Good thing when you're a poor high school student (like me)...

The v8 always seems to add that desired rumble.

Yea but the V8 also adds about another $2K to my insurance.
I'm a new driver, I'm a good driver, but they don't trust teens.

Well without discounts insurance for my V6 would be $2100, but I get a good student discount and a 6 hour behind the wheel plus 30 hour classroom discount. So I pay...well my parents pay $1400. I dunno if it would exactly be $2K more with a V8, but I know insurance would be around $4K total for a V8 for a 17 year old. Its cause statistics show that like 75% of all new drivers have an accident in NJ. NJ sucks, most people do drive like *******s thats why insurance is so damn much.
