What would be bad with running no X or H pipe?
I mean, straight pipes from the headers?

Would the performance be so crappy?

Sounds stupid but I was just wondering what all you guys think.

 

I hear straight pipes sound like crap, not sure if it sounds the same as open headers near the headers, cause I love that sound. If you want to run open pipes I see no need for an XorH pipe for performance. I know they help when you have mufflers as a restriction, but not sure if it's different with straight pipes.

 

I meant straight pipes from the headers with mufflers (sorry I should have add more details).

So you think that a H or X pipe would give better performance with mufflers?

 

Obvisouly if you're running duals, it's definately worth it, I know when I had my Stang I had an H-pipe, though I've been hearing about X-Pipes lately.
