91/92 aero spoiler
91/92 aero spoiler
Is there a way to mount the 92 aero spoiler onto my 89 glass? I have a T/A w/that style spoiler and I have to use that glass to mount my newer one. I've heard the clips and mounting points are different. Is this a really big deal Would it look like crap?

I did the same swap myself and I just bolted the wing down with the 4 bolts on the main part of the wing. The tips are stiff enough that they pretty much stay in place against the glass trim. I even went as far as getting some hardware from a company that sells there version of the 91-92 style wing. The 4 bolts to attach it to the decklid are the same but the hardware for the tips was totally
diff. and there was no way to make it work. Also you will have to remove the metal pieces on the metal glass trim that the old wing attached to or your tips will not fit down flush against the metal glass trim. It's also a good idea while you have no wing on the decklid to put a bead of clear silicone down in the gap where the glass and decklid meet.

Let me get this right. The new 91-92 aero wing has the same bolt holes as the previous areowing? So if I buy one I don't have to fill any holes, it will line up perfect?

No ,you will have to fill holes. There's gonna be 3 from the 3rd brake light and the original holes on each end are not the same.
You cant leave them cause the 91-92 spoiler only partially covers them.

It's a little aggravateing with what you have to go thru to install it but your going to have to fill/paint holes no matter what spoiler you use but not as aggravateing as dealing with the factory spoiler cracking and rotting on your car.Just when you think you have the paint perfect and the spoiler is perfect, you go and wash your car one day to find the paint cracked and the spoiler looking like ****.
