Another Homegrown STB!
It's a tight fit, but it works with the stock air cleaner for now.

Looks good, gives me a good idea for mine ^_^ I will be tieing mine into the cowl area, to stiffen it that much more. Look at the Edelbrocks TBI set up to see what i mean.

Wow, that is pretty nice for a homemade STB. Makes me want to get started on one for myself.

The red paint adds around 15hp!
I thought all high performance bolt-on parts had to be red. Isn't that the rule or is it blue? Trending Topics

I like how you attached the tube to the brackets- looks cool, and must be a bit stronger than raising the bracket up and bolting the tube to the bracket.
Good place to hide some nitrous lines, too.

Just threw together an STB using $10 of scrap metal. Used 1/8" thick 1 1/4" square pipe, but its pretty much the same design as bulletboy's. It's rather overbuilt, but took only half a day to put together. There is quite a noticeable difference in handling. I'll post pictures as soon as I find a digital camera.

Sorry this took so long to ask, I keep forgetting:
bulletboy, care to share any specs?
length of tube, wall thickness, diameter? is that 1/8" for the plate? how did you bend it?
I'm thinking of doing mine VERY similar to that design, simple, and useful with stock aircleaner.

My design is identical to bulletboy's, aside from my using square pipe. The tube length is 4 feet even, the wall thickness is 1/8", the diameter is 1 1/4", and the plates are 1/8", and it isn't bent at all. I'm using a stock air cleaner, too.
This is a surprisingly easy job if you have access to a good scrap metal place and a welder.

The bar is 48 1/2" long and the thickness is 1/8". The brackets are 1/8" thick too. The diameter is 1 1/4". The bar isn't bent, I think the glare just makes it look that way. The color is red. lol
