Guages in the AC and heater control panel
Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone has ever taken out the AC and Heater control panel and put gauges in it. If so please help me out and show me a pic or tell me out to get them in there the best way possible. Thanks for all your help.

I did it. Dont have a pic but what I did was take a thick peice of plastic that kind of matched the dash and cut it out so three 2 1/16 autometer guages fit. It was quiet easy so dont be intimidated.

It just seems that the hole for the heater controls is a little smaller than 2 1/16. Is it not??

I got the plastic from a black tool tray I had in my garage. There is plenty of room you just have to cut it out so there is no overhang which makes the hole smaller. Just cut the hole out where the plastic makes it smaller. Do you get what I am trying to say? Dont have any pics cause I did this to my old car.

only because it's hard to paint and make it look right, and if it's not painted, it looks like a crappy thrown together bracket car...other than that, it's a great idea!

i went one step further and replaced the plastic piece that holds the radio also. made it one piece and mounted guages, radio and kill switches. i laid the old pieces over the aluminum and scribed the outline and mounting holes then cut my stuff in then took an orbital sander with a small disc to the aluminum which gave it a kool look then clear coated it. doing the same thing to inst. cluster now.
