C5 Corvette door handles...
I want the look of shaved door handles but I also want to be a little different so i was thinking about the C5 corvette door handles and I think that they would look pretty good. So can somebody photoshop me a pic of what it would look like so I can decide if I like the look of it? BTW I have a blue Camaro, so if you could do the photoshop on a blue Camaro.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Look up Firebird383.
The vette handles were also shared with a few other GM lines (recycled handles ? GM ? no way!)
I used Dodge intrepid myself.
I really don't like OEM handles or shaved. I got what I liked.. Firebird383 picked his flavor. Both look good.
Off the top I can't remember the gentleman who has a pic of them on his blue iroc but, the oval handles don't fit the camaro quite as well IMO.

Thanks alot Deadbird for the links. I really like that Blue IROC with them, to tell you the truth I think I seen that before lol
. Well I really like the look and I am thinking about going for it in the future, unless I can find something different that nobody has thought of yet.

i thought square ones would look good also but I only seen them on the chevy trucks. And they are too big for my liking. I think I found a set on a buick in a local yard but he wants $40 a side for me to cut out the handle and surrounding metal. And the doors are crunched!

yep, he didnt want to come down. And I do alot of business with him. The handles were the only usable part of the door period. Guess he figured he would have to take them off. I forgot to mention that i'd cut them out.
ZRo.. you'd probably be better of finding another car with the handles unless you have accesss to vettes. I don't know what other cars came with them but I'm sure someone would charge you and arm and a leg for some vette parts. That and vettes are composite and not metal.

I think some squared off flush mount handles would look good. Werent there some like that on some pickups?

I really don't like the look of the truck or the C4 door handles but I think for right now I will stick with the C5 door handle idea.... C6 would be kinda cool but really hard to do and I don't think that they would look all that great IMHO, but there still cool tho lol

The c4 handles are pretty close (in appearance) to the 4thgen handles... either way.. somewhat difficult to weld fiberglass/composite to metal (talking about the door skin recess).

the mid 90's chevy and GMC trucks have the closest contour to the thirdgen door. I have thought about doing this with my car over the winter.

A minor amount of filing around the outer egde of the lock and the GM lock pressed tightly in the Intrepid handle.
A different retainer has to be made as it will not work on the GM lock.

Take a look at the Cadillac Eldorado ETC.
You can zoom in on the pictures of this eBay ad and see the handle.

I can't understand why people like C5 handles on a thirdgen. Totally wrong shape.
Recently I saw pics of a thirdgen Camaro that used 94 Grand Am handles. They're similar to the s10 & full size truck handles.
I personally like the C4 handles the best, especially if the handle is painted body color. That'll make the handle virtually disappear, the problem is like Deadbird said... grafting a fiberglass section into a steel door shell is just asking for headaches down the road. That pretty much took the C4 handle out of the running for me unless I can fab up a shell out of steel that matches the shape of the C4 door indent.
