New 4130 hood latch and headlight bar and more.

In my try for a 2700 lbs street car I will try anything... I think. All the black parts in the picture are 4130 and TIG welded. The bumper bar and hood latch are .049 and the X-brace is .035 with all the mounting tabs cut out of .050 The front clip has all but two of the factory mounting points and the total weight is just over 8lbs.

Nice work. Just an idea, but loose the overflow. And the stock radiator. Could save a few pounds with those. Also Im assuming you already have lighter wheels, and an aluminum driveshaft. Warren Johnson said," If you cant find 1 way to loose a hundred pounds, find a hundred ways to loose 1 pound" . Wise words.

Sweet, looks kinda nascarish...and i like it....

Personally i figure i'll just make more than enough power to counteract the weight, i like rolling to the track in nice leather seats with the 12's bumpin in the back

My car has stock 91-92 16" wheels, stock dash, stock front seats, stock doors, a 3 1/2 inch drive shaft, six point roll bar, 700R4 and a heavy Dana 44 rear. With all this the car is still is under 3,000lbs Now just don't look at the rest of the car.

That looks like at least $400 worth of material/labor. Hit it with an easy 50% markup and I don't think anyone'll be interested...

I love fabrication, but people have no idea how much effort it takes to make something like that. Especially being 4130 and TIG'ing it.
