rear seat delete

i was wondering if anyone has fabbed up a rear seat delete kit. i am looking for something to put over the rear seats so it looks nice and smooth so you dont see the holes that the seats sits in. i saw something like this on ebay for the mustangs and was wondering if anyone has seen it or fab it before. i have a cage in mine but still have the rear seats for apperance reason but want that smooth look now. any suggestions?

Stock Eliminator racers remove the rear seat but they can't have bare metal. They just get some automotive carpet that matches the car's and cut to fit.

Building anything to cover the space would most likely weigh more than the seats themselves. I think the rear seats are just better left in.

cut and smooth down the rear seat brackets and put new covering over it, thats what i plan to do and their just will be a small hump left behind if any.

and there are more pics on this thread here and as you can read you pretty much have to know some skills with wood and measuring to do this because the dimentions will be somewhat different between different cars

Has anyone thought of making those functional like the ones in the Corvettes? It would take more fab work but that is what this thread is in right?? Just a thought.

When i posted this i also posted it in body/interior and someone put a link in that thread for a company that does this kit and they are starting to offer the compartments like the vettes have.

http://www.speedspecialty.com/store/...duct=rrseatcvr

Here's the ones I made for my car. Not really hard at all...took a couple hours. I used 1/8" hardboard. I picked up the carpet at an upholstry shop.
