fog lights for my 87 formula 383
got sick of all the trans ams and camaros having fog lights and the formula/firebirds not having them and then having to drive around with the stupid headlights up all the time.
this is what i did... bought 15$ PILOT navigator slim design universal fog lights part #NV-509W
they use a H3, 12V 55W bulb.... same thats in the TA foglights and are about the bightness of the stock headlight bulbs in our cars. I went to the junk yard and found a stock fog light switch outa a TA and cut the plug off...
installed in in my car in the stock spot, wired it up. then had to find a spot for the fog lights... stock firebirds/formulas dont have ground effects or spots for fog lights and its ***** to just stick them on the bottom of the car(they look missplaced and cheap)
so i mounted them like in the new 4th gen trans am's... they have the round fog lights towards the center of the car but lower than the headlights. i cut holes into the plastic inserts on the stock firebird bumper cover. made some aluminum brakets, screwed that into the HUGE steel bumper support. and had the plastic inserts line up with the fog lights.
now this is just mocked up, no fenders and only 2bolts holding the bumper on. oh just in case your wondering ive tinted every light (including front blinker lenses) on my car except the headlights which run H4 100w90w hyper whites.
i think it looks good. very clean and looks like it was meant to be there. fog lights are bright as hell lol. let me kno what u think. pardon the mess... car has been completely rebuilt and has no motor, trans or rearend.

its possible but it wouldnt fit like stock parking lights. and u would loose the ability to have the turn signals which are required. unless u made something else up for your front marker lights. the stock front marker lights fit well so i decided to keep them. ive seen ppl take out the headlights and headlight motors and make them fixed... then use the lights i had and install them on the section/face (the plastic shroud around the headlight bulb) and install them into that facing forward... they then use 1 or 2 sets for the desired headlight brightness etc they want.
