3RD GEN LAMBO DOORS

ANYBODY DONE LAMBO DOORS ON A 82-92 ? MY DOORS ARE OFF FOR BUSHING REPAIRS. THIS IS THE BEST TIME TO DO IT. SO FAR I CANT FIND A TRUE BOLT ON KIT. IM NOT GONNA CUT OR WELD MY FRAME SO BOLT ON IS THE ONLY OPTION. ANYBODY SEEN OR DONE A KIT THAT IS A BOLT ON WITH MINIMAL FENDER MODIFICATION AND NO CUTTING / WELDING ON THE FRAME OR DOORS

all i did was search on google 1982-1992 Camaro door kits.

IT LOOKS LIKE VERTICAL DOORS INC HAS THE ONLY BOLT ON. 1299. OUCH. THE OTHER KITS DONT GUARANTEE BOLT ON. I DONT WANT TO BUY ONE WITHOUT CHECKING FENDER CLEARANCE HOLES LINE UP ETC...

Check out your local board (Southwest region) There are a few members here in town who do this sort of thing and at least one who has it done to their car. As far as I know, there is no true "Bolt-on" kit for this. Keep in mind, if you go to the pavillions or some of the "Shows" on the west side they will give you a hard time for doing lambo doors on a Camaro. Good luck!

and you have to be carefull about them becuase some of them are crap and will fall back on you, heard about a few people getting broken knee caps becuase the hinges or something broke and the doors swung back down on them.

also the door frame is not really the frame of the car. so hacking/cutting into them wouldnt make too much of a difference. My car had both front fender/door/floor sections where your feet rest completely rotted out and the car had no structual issues.

THE HINGES BOLT TO THE FRAME AND ARE WELDED TO THE DOORS. NEW HINGES WILL FORCE CUTTING THE OLD ONES OFF THE DOORS AND WELDING NEW ONES ON. MY HINGES ARE INTACT. THEY ONLY NEED NEW BUSHINGS / PINS.

For $1200+ you'd better be positive you want to do it. If you're sure you want to do it, you won't care if it isn't reversible or how much work goes into doing it. If you've got $1200 to spend on something you're not sure about, then you've got money to put it back to stock if you don't like it. Personally, I think lambo doors are pretty much for tuners... Lamborghinis don't even have 'em anymore.

Also, please turn off the caps lock... typing in all caps is the internet equivalent of yelling and is a terrible way to make friends.

my ears hurt from reading all the caps, i don't trust Lambo Doors to hold out, and the fad kind of died when import tuners started using them, and the steep price isnt worth changing from regular swing open doors, sorry i can think of too many ways that this would be a bad idea
