Very nice job! And I'll bet your son likes it too. At least you are capable of carpentry, I can't saw a board straight to save my butt! Maybe put some IROC stickers on to match dad's car?

This is awesome it looks like my white convertible RS.
It looks really well made. I'm sure your son thinks it's great too.

Wow, thats nice, the bed looks cool too! LOL jk, great job. Now just add something to make an idle, rev and burnout sound from your car and he can have a "running" car bed.

Re: I guess this would fit in here, car bed style!
Sides are made from 3/4" MDF. 8' long by 22" height at the rear quarter panel.
Center pieces (front and back) are 40 1/2". Which makes the whole bed 42" wide when assembled with the sides. Center pieces are made from 5/8" MDF.
If you need anything specific, just ask me. I can always measure it back for you guys.

Looks great. I don't think it would be very good in the "air" though, JK. Lucky kid.

Re: I guess this would fit in here, car bed style!
it looks really good.

i would have loved having something like that when i was a kid.
i also like the "tool box" look of the chest of drawers.
i know its more work, but i have a couple of suggestions.
you could make the hood open for extra storage. inside put a bottom board that sits on top of the license plate opening. you can use a light duty strut similar to the hatch struts to keep it open.
make the areas beside the license plate opening into drawers.
on the sides between the tires, add a couple of short, wide drawers along the bottom to mimic ground effects.

it would be sweet to make one out of a bunch of real parts
good job

That's outstanding. Definitely more creative than the typical kid's car bed.

Thanks Jim,
I gotta agree with you there, most beds I saw were cheaply made and had no front/rear end. Wheels were decals or 10" plastic rims. I reached my goal, my son sleeps about 1 more hour in the morning and hes in a hurry to go to bed at night! Pus he thinks Im cool
