Custom MSD Bracket for all you non-AC guys

I have a 6AL, and I know not everyone has a non-A/C third gen, but I made this bracket to fit over my heater box on the firewall. Real clean and still affords plenty of space to the engine bay. It took a little time and welding, but it turned out looking pretty good. There are a couple of things I would do differently if i made another one, but overall, I'm happy with it.

I don't have it in the car as of yet, but I am hoping to this week. I've lined it up under the hood and looks like it will be a beautiful fit! I'm psyched!

I was going to do exactly the same thing, but in the end I just got lazy and mounted it directly to the firewall at a bit of an angle.

looks very clean, i'd suppose you could simply bolt it to the firewall as well. either way looks great

You mean the BMR strut tower bar, BMR sales them, but UMI has a better one, the BMR sits a lil high and you have to clearence the hood.

Yeah, he's right. I would go with UMI parts if I did it again. They seem to put alot more thought into their design. Especially with the steering stiffener. I had to fabricate mine. Quite a pain really.

Good fabrication but I prefer mine mounted above my non-AC box.

Re: Custom MSD Bracket for all you non-AC guys

I guess I just wanted a clean cut look with not any slight angle in the box. I want everything to be well placed with a clean look. But that looks good. Good job! J91 let me know if you still want one. If not, no hurt feelings. Let me know.

Re: Custom MSD Bracket for all you non-AC guys

Awsome idea but the only thing i worry about is the heat from the headers being there but then again it should be far enough away. I mounted mine in the driver side where the carcoal cannister goes and also ran a power block over to that side to eliminate some wires

You'd save yourself an hour minimum of fabrication time if you got access to a brake.
