Re: camaro spoiler to firebird?

You would have to drill new holes. Weld old ones shut. And do a repaint back there.

Not hard. Just a matter of if you can do/afford to pay for all that.

No different than my 4th gen wing swap. Drill/Weld/Paint.

Re: camaro spoiler to firebird?

wouldnt the spoiler cover any holes since it sits on the trunk itself?

I don't know how close the spacing it between the wing & the spoiler, for the 2 center posts.

Bird wing holes are all over the decklid, You'd for sure have to weld several shut. Easier would be to use a camaro decklid. Be aware the camaro spoiler follows the angled corner tail lights which the bird wont have. It should still fit, just look funny

Re: camaro spoiler to firebird?

Firebirds are wider in that section, so I don't think you could just bolt the Camaro 3 piece on....

I think I read it as you wanted the Z28 "F40" wing piece.

To do the IROC/RS style spoiler, you could do it. Easiest way would be to swap whole hatches, then drill new holes in the quarter panels for the 2 end pieces. You wouldn't HAVE to swap hatches, but that might be easier than welding & repainting. And the different width mentioned above is in the quarter panels, not the hatch, so the hatch would be simple to swap.

Not sure how well the spoiler end pieces with match up with the spoiler center on the hatch though. Might be a small gap between the end pieces & center piece, because of the quarter panels being wider, but I'm not positive where the wider section is. If it is in the rear, the whole panel, or just the center or flares.

As for 'bird holes "all over the decklid"? There is just 5 holes (4 bolt holes, 1 wire hole). To do the 4th gen wing, it only took welding those shut & drilling 3 new holes. But the wing does use these clips to hold the forward arms to the glass edge, so you'd still have those. But they can be ground off (they are spot welded from the factory) then the trim touched back up black. So swapping for a Camaro hatch is the easiest way to go.

And as far as the Camaro spoiler following the Camaro lights....True, but it would just end up looking like an early 2nd gen Camaro. Same style spoiler, no tail lights wrapping around on the sides.

That part of the body is with out a doubt wider. Have you seen the way a Firebird base model spoiler overhangs on a Camaro?
