Here is the start to my build.

That is all I have done for the rear end of there car waiting for my 4 link from Summit racing.
Started building the engine it is a 350 Small block Bord .060 over.
Didn't take pictures of the camshaft install should have but didn't.

why a backhalf when a 28x10.5 stiff and just some creative hammering would MORE than hold whatever that motor could throw at it. Curious to see how it turns out, but a torque arm setup is one of the best suspension setups with a few key parts changed out.

I also suspect that you might have to cut out some more of the trans tunnel to get a decent rear ride height.

That wont work for me because I don't know any pro mod guys. Plus there tires are way to small.
I dont think you have enough tire. You might spin.

I am building the car to handle what ever size engine I want to put in it. I plan to build a big block for it. I want to just get it running.

Keep with the big tires. BBC's don't like 28x10.5's. Don't forget the rear frame should be .250 wall 2x3 for strength. Are you doing the work outside on cinder blocks?

Just because a tire still has rubber on it doesn't mean it's still good. There are some dedicated racers that will replace their slicks a few times a year because the 60' times start to drop off. Wish I had that kind of budget but I'll run mine as long as possible just like everyone else.
The big tire means you have a better chance of getting traction on lessor prepped tracks even with a lower HP vehicle. It's all about consistency. If you can get traction when everyone else is spinning off the line, you'll probably win the race. Yes there are cars that can go very fast on a small tire but track prep usually needs to be exceptional plus those small tires get heavily pounded from high HP. There's a local mustang that competes in XDR class. A set of tires last about 10 passes before the sidewalls are hammered out of them.
As for the back half, I've seen 13 second cars with a back half. It's a big project to do but once it's done, you can upgrade the rest of the powertrain as your budget allows later on down the road and never have to worry about the rear. Many people seem to start with a high HP engine then wait for the 7.5" time bomb diff to fail before changing to something different. Going right to a 4-link with a better diff allows more options down the road plus you get the better adjustability of the 4-link system.

That is my thought. Start with the important stuff like the rear end and upgrade as you go along and have the money. I don't know why everyone is against the 4 link system? All that really matters is consistence like you said and the track that I have locally is no where near pro on prepping the dam track. I am modeling you setup after yours, really like what you did plus If im going to do it im going to do it right the first time.

most people are afraid of a project like this, and having the back half is good for doing the brackets
however my bracket tires will probably be 29.5x10.5's on my camaro, or maybe a 315 radial, but i don't go to many bad tracks either. and it'll be slow (mid 6's on the spray)

Update
I worked on installing my 4 link Frame rails yesterday, Let me tell you it was a pain. Trying to figure out where to square everything off was a nightmare.
I started by fabricating some sub frame connectors that went down both sides of the rocker panel from the front of the wheel well to the front of the car and tied into the frame in the front. I looked all over and tryed buying pre-maid sub-frame connectors and the only ones I could find where the ones that went down the middle of the car on both sides of the transmission tunnel. I bought them but have not installed them yet all I have done is the frame tacked in place. It was my first time welding and I would have to say that it is not as easy as you would think. I am going to have my neighbor weld up the whole car once I get everything tacked in place.

Nice build been looking at those frame rails from summit also. Its funny in your pictures how stuff is just randomly in the car, pretty hilarious if a beer can gets left in the frame lol.

i have already done this,used the comp eng rear kit with ladders,motor is a 14 to one bbc,big heads big cam,dyno @710,9 inch out of a 65 galaxy,getting ready to install tubs,sheetmetal,I can tell you this,it's ALOT of work(and cash)MEASURE EVERYTHING,WRITE IT DOWN,DO NOT BURN ANY WELDS TILL YOU ARE 110%SURE
