Whats Up Guys, I Have An 84 Berlinetta Im Installing THe Jegster 8 Point Cage And I Was Wondering If Anyone Could Help By Putting Up Pics Of The 8 Points On The Car You Welded To. I Am Running Into The Bump On The Floor Where The Hoop Mounts And Was Wondering If There Was Any Tips Or Tricks I Would Need To Know. Thanks!

Re: Roll Cage Install Help

Bump on the floor are you talking about the back seats or the passenger side front? Passenger side front I just bent the plate to wrap the contour of the floor. Rear seats I removed and put my mainhoop there. I'm 6'4 so I need all the leg room I can get. Use the plates included. Most kits come half way cut. You will probably have to trim and adjust it some. I used the S&W kit with dual swing outs. You need to have it at least MIG'd (gas shielded) if you want it up to tech specs. Don't think you can do it with a stick welder or something. If you're going by tech specs they have measurements for where the mainhoop and etc should be placed (so far over driver's helment etc).

The X-brace should never be high enough to cause visibility problems. The only mirror I use is one I have mounted inside the car. I don't even see the rear tubes. Looking at his picture, I don't really like how the rear tubes are run.

As for mounting the main hoop on the hump. Weld the 6x6 plates onto the hump then heat them up with a torch to fold them over the sides. All your tubes should be welded to 6x6 plates.

You can see them in the mirror, but not a big deal. Only reason why I did the x-brace was I had extra straight weld in door bars left over.
