Re: HIDDEN - Over flow and washer tanks - Built on the cheap!
overflow on your left, washer on your right (both upside down) see the two 90* fittings? the top one is the *vent* and if it gets to full which it won't, it can purge...
Re: HIDDEN - Over flow and washer tanks - Built on the cheap!
I saw this post long ago and loved the idea but never tried, found it again and I think its time to give it a shot, have you tried or thought of a clear fluid level viewer possibly? That's one thing I might try to add if I attempt this. Just something to keep an eye on the levels without unscrewing either tank.

How did you thread the PVC pipe? Is that something that Home Depot or Lowes could help me out with? I am just a little concerned about the temp of the coolant. My Z28 runs a little hotter than normal.

Check out the post below yours, you can see there is a fitting that is a female threaded portion and then there is a male threaded cap.
You would have to glue the female fitting on to your pipe.
Just go on in and walk the aisles of lowes/HD or whatever you have.
That looks awesome man. Great idea! Think I just found my new washer bottle, lol. Old one is cracked top and bottom and there is no room for it anymore anyway.

Re: HIDDEN - Over flow and washer tanks - Built on the cheap!
props to the op for the great idea, as i also hated my dirty huge tanks. i made mine out of 3 inch pvc and are about 11 inches long. i took the filler panel out to allow the tubes to be mounted vertical as i thought it would be optimal. i will be using some metal roll strapping that has holes in it and going around the tubes then putting a screw through a hole in the strapping into the frame. thanks again for the idea.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I really like the design! Great work! Other than the tapping the pvc did you use glue or anything to attach and seal those brass fittings? And what size fittings did you use for this project?
