Anyway sweet looking grill - Interested to see the wet version next to it to decide which style i like more. Alas no money this month, but will definitely be keeping an eye on this in future months.
I second the CF Dash pad though.... would love to have that piece.

I have a Set of 91-92 Hood Blisters I'd be willing to send and wouldn't feel bad about the part breaking if I got a free pair of blisters (or ridiculously reduced price) out of it. they'd need to be sanded and preped because some youthful kid in his ignorance (smack forehead) spray painted them when he spray painted his hood to keep it from rusting.... i know i know... i was an idiot.

Re: Carbon Z28 Grille
My dash pad used to be perfect... and like the other three.... the FL sun kills them. i garage keep mine and use a windshield reflector when outside, but it still cracks.... tired or replacing them... would rather wax, buff to a shine, and be done.... always planed on doing a fibre glass one, but i'd go CF instead...since i don't know how to work with CF.

I'm going to stick with the small stuff for now that's a lot of work to make a dash pad. Maybe a cover for it instead just bond it in place or bolt in with the factory locations.

I'm in. But what about doing some smaller parts like the camaro radio bezel? Or the manual shift plate? Shift plate might be more involved, I would settle for it to be overlayed

I don't think I am going to get into overlays since you can get them on line so cheap. I wouldn't be able to compete with their pricing. Have to much time in cutting them out and water jetting is expensive.

I bought a real carbon fiber overlay kit a fews years ago... I posted some pre-installation pics... didn't like it. Never installed it. Search it if you want see what they look like.

I exchanged a couple PM's last week, and he got hung up with a project at work that didn't allow him as much free time as he wanted. So he hasn't got then finished, but told me he expected to be able to work on them more this weekend.
I'm as excited as you guys are... I'm sure!!!

Thanks just giving yall an update they are coming along nicely. Just got the first one done as you saw in the post. Sorry for the long time between posts been having to work tons of overtime at work. Getting a months worth of work done in two weeks is killer, but that comes with working in motorsports.

Re: Carbon Z28 Grille
Your all gonna hate me...

So as you can see I paid Matt a little extra to have him clear coat the carbon for the gloss look I'm going for. I will be starting a thread in the appearance board after I get some installed pics.
Initial inspection... Thing is beautiful. The pattern in the weave is super even, and consistent, and edges are sharp and clean. The bowtie is perfect! I will probably re-paint the bowtie myself, but you guys have nothing to worry about as far as I can see. Can't wait to install it!
Thanks mattmeritt89!!!! PM Matt for more details and cost on the next batch if you didn't get in on the first batch.

Been trying to work on them a few hours a week now that all of the crazy over time is done. Goal is to start putting them out about every week to week and a half, now that I have some time.

Yup you are in the world of custom parts made by a guy on his free time. I can assure you he'd name making much money on these. We are certainly not paying his normal hourly rate.
I wouldn't worry about, they will be done eventually, and I'm pretty they will be awesome.

Takes only a min to post updates, just because he's doing these on the side does not give him a pass on communication.

You are right, it is no excuse. But I'd rather have it making unique quality parts with little communication than have him stop because the process is to painful for him.
Unfortunately it is the reality of most garage businesses.

no one asked for your input here I just would simply like to know a time outlook I did pay the deposit I do not think I am asking to much also no one is going around slandering his name i have nothing but good things to say about what i have seen of his work.
Yup you are right. However it also only takes one or two lousy customers to convince him to not produce parts any more. The biggest pain with running a side business is the customers.
