Stock Style Fuel Cells?
Does anyone know if they make a fuel cell to fit the stock location. I have had no luck finding anything, thanks.

FuelSafe has one but its retardedly over-priced (to the tune of $3k)
I am working with Ricks hotrod tanks to get one for my 3rd gen.

A bit overkill, but I think it looks reasonably priced all things considered. How much would it cost anyone of use to fab up that kind of fuel cell to begin with? We'd save on labor, but I'd be willing to bet the bladder & foam are the costly part of this operation.

I dont like the foam if you run the tank to long it breaks down and gets in the whole fuel system I always take it out so i would rather have one without it

I dont really know anyone that has ran the bladders before. But the foam is ok if you have it changed every year but i wouldn't take that chance, I have had a few friends mess up their regulators, lines, and even the carb had to be cleaned because of it.

You can run a 4th gen tank in a 3rd gen right? I've seen some aluminum fabricated cells which mount in the stock 4th gen location.

Yes and no. Looking at it, its definitely not your typical fuel cell. Also, its 11 gal bigger than the stock tank:

That cell is 8 gal. more than stock. Stock is 16 gal.

I would think that a $1,000 21 gallon fuel tank (or cell) would be something a lot of folks would be interested in... $3K is beyond rediculous!!!
Re: Stock Style Fuel Cells?
Yes it comes with the foam inside but speaking from first hand experience the foam last 2 to 3 years. It is wise to take new foam blocks and rinse them in soapy water and then blow dry with compressed air as they have a lot of loose particles in them when new. We race a short track stock car and have never had a bit of trouble with the foam.

Why do you want to use a fuel cell? If you want your fuel lines to come out of the bottom instead of the top, You can weld a bung in the bottom of the tank. It already has somwhat of a sump design. I have done it and had no problems with it.

i have a tank/cell that fits in the factory location. you just have to use a 4th gen filler neck which i have. you would also have to run a vent line. it even has a sending unit that will work with the factory gauge. im selling it for $450 plus shipping. it was over $800 new. let me know if your interested. here are some pics

Maybe there's one or two types of tanks. With my tank bone dry, burping, and filling it till its flowing over, I can get only 15.5 gallon into the tank.
