does this count as fabwork?
ok so after what most of you guys do in the fab thread (other than the cup holder guy lol) this probably shouldnt be here but i think TECHNICALLY im in there..picked up a 89-90 chin spoiler from the junkyard for 4 bucks to swap out my 84 Z's with..i thought it might be compatible because mine did have the 84 gfx on it. its definately not. but you can get it to fit with an avacado, some duct tape and a snorkel. oh and a propane torch, utility knife, and a few other bits. its not quite done, still gotta figure out how to attach a few sections, but i kinda like it! in some angles anyway...

i wish i could find a lip for $4.... everyone wants 100$+ but that definatly wakes up the car. for my front lip mine was an 89 front end and to get it to attach to the fenders i drilled holes and bolted it in... imo i wouldnt use duct tape, over time itll let go from the seasons, but good start

I drilled holes in the spoiler to line up with bumper holes after I used s propane torch to heat theplastic and bend it up if that makes sense

Re: does this count as fabwork?
the pics are of a not quite finished product, but thats pretty much how its gonna look with a little more lining up..the thing thats different is the front middle section..its got the 84 bumper with its pointed bottom and there is nothing on the 90 bumper (90 is a guess) to line up with that like the 84 gfx does...but the rest lines up, or will when im done. but it doesnt look way out of place..kinda looks like 2 intentional openings instead, at least in person. im planning on painting the bumper white to match then i dont think that part will be as out of place..but again i kinda like it..looks better than the old spoiler anyway. also i didnt do any damage to the bumper if i wanna put the old one back

Re: does this count as fabwork?
anyone got any ideas about its color? its either white or black, unless i happen to find a close enough gold ( the rest of my car is in gold trim)..but the whole car needs a repaint anyway so itll just be temporary, like a year or two temporary haha

I'd go for gold just to match the rest of the trim.

Re: does this count as fabwork?
ok, so i got it all painted today, decided on white for the spoiler and other gfx..its a temporary paint job, but i must say it looks better than the pics..got these new spray cans that apply the paint extremely well..im not quite done but ran out of daylight. whaddya guys think? tomorrow im gonna paint the hood black, well its gonna be black on the hood, but also about a half inch onto the fender in line with the black headlight buckets (?) bottom edge, not sure how else to describe it. theres a few guys that have that paint scheme on here, but i think it was the best idea to go with white on the chin spoiler. heres some pics

Re: does this count as fabwork?
well, i wanted to try it so i went ahead and did the black..i can always sand it all down and start over, but i like it!
dont mind the broken side view mirror..my roomie did that..also this is kind of a temporary paint job, just got tired of seeing it in the driveway looking dumpy.

Re: does this count as fabwork?
Is it fabwork? OF COURSE! It looks FAAABulous!! Sorry, my roommate is watching 'Rue Paul's Drag Race' and something must have rubbed off on me....
I vote to keep it white, by the way.
