LED sequential tail lights for a Camaro
I was thinking adding sequential LED tail lights. I am thinking of doing them a little different then others have done. I have the standard tail lights with the black stripe across the middle so I was thinking of finding some sort of short amber LED strip lights and having the work with one of the sequential controllers. I am having having a hard time finding short strip lights that would work unless I come up with at way of covering them some how.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you try the led light stripes they sell at autozone and other places similar? I can't find the post now but a guy on here made his own sequential relays using different resistors in line with the tail lights he even had a wire diagram in his post

BigBadLou sells them for $56 shipped. they arn't to hard to install and look great once you install an electronic flasher. I have the Berlinetta which has the single black stripe through the middle as well and im very satisfied with the outcome, if you are interested ill post a video of them in action.

yeah I was gonna say I thought they worked together on those, but I wasn't sure if I was remembering correctly or not. I bought one of Lou's around a month and a half ago and he still had plenty to sell.

I would like to avoid littering this thread so here is an STS thread where we discuss installation even on Camaro models:

Re: LED sequential tail lights for a Camaro
I would be very interested to see a good video on someone who has installed them into their 3rd gen.. I think it can be done, but would like to know how they mounted their additional brake bulbs or set it up.. I have seen some of the new mustangs do it and I want it..

Re: LED sequential tail lights for a Camaro
I am looking for a way of doing LED lights in addition to the stock lights which I would keep and possibly change the bulbs to LED. So the 2 ways I'm thinking of doing this one is to find short strip lights that have a finished look and mount flat or the other way is to use the strips of LED's that would stick to the top of the stock housing and shine to the back so it would fill the gap between the hatch and the lights. Each way would have have 3 on each side to do the sequential lights, plus maybe a red section that would work with the brake light.
Right now I'm just doing some planning and research, it will be a little while before I have the cash flow to be spending on the Camaro.

Re: LED sequential tail lights for a Camaro
I want to keep it close to stock look so it wouldn't work well to make those sequential. I haven't looked at those strips meant for trucks, but my first thought is that those are meant to mount in a "hidden" location and they are red and I was wanting the strip to be amber for the turn signal, but I wouldn't mind having part of it being red to supplement the stock brake light.

Re: LED sequential tail lights for a Camaro
If you want to just replace your factory bulbs with led's go here and type in your car make model and year and it will give you led bulbs numbers for every light on your car.
