Re: Head Light switch Help!!!

It's a plastic nut/retainer that holds the headlight switch to the dash. They often crack because, well, they are old plastic original gm pieces. If your headlight switch moves back and forth as you turn your lights off/on, this is probably the culprit.

Re: Head Light switch Help!!!

I bought one on ebay a few months ago for like $4, but I can't find any more available with a quick search. If I were you, I'd go to a junkyard. I'm sure any f-body 82-92 will have that same nut/retainer.

Re: Head Light switch Help!!!

Everytime i find an f-body in the junk yard its always gone already. I was able to pull off factory fog lights and the z28 grill and some other small screws and stuff. All for $33 bucks.

Re: Head Light switch Help!!!

That's a good find! I know what you mean, as normally those things are destroyed when I get there the next day. If it's a TPI motor, they wreck everything else attached to it and nothing is usable. The interior is trashed and the dash is ripped apart for anything and everything salvageable.

should be the same screw as every other GM car and truckmade from the mid 60's to the early 90's with a pull out headlight switch..
