rear disk adapters

okay so I picked up a "rear disk brake kit" from an 88 Camaro Z28 assuming it was a stock (J65?) set up but when I went to bolt it on found that the flanges on the axle housing are different and the backing plates for the disk brakes don't mount up. is there someone that makes an adapter plate? or is it possible to make one? If I made one would there have to be an offset or could I just make it out of flat stock? and just go form the big bolt around the axle housing into the two little bolts then just extend the metal out how ever far I need it to bolt up the calipers? Later I will probably upgrade to a better caliper and disk but for now it all ganna be the stock stuff from the 88, from what I have seen there where two rotor options from the parts store and this kit has the smaller ones.
