Ok, so the guy who had my original car had it fully setup for racing, including a cage, narrowed rear with tucked in wide slicks, even Hotchkiss racing bar and spring setup. I was just talking to my brother and we’re wanting to put subframe connectors onto our new 91 car to race and can’t figure out the way the other guy had this last car done. We didn’t even realize till now that the rearend on the old car was like this with the subframe connectors mounted to the rear axle. Also this car had Posi, and I’m doubting our new one does, and this is a 10 bolt rear as well. Just wondering if the other car has a stock 10 bolt or earlier from a truck or another car.

 

Those are old Southside Machine Lift bars. More of a drag car setup. They mount to a cross bar that's welded to the subframes along the rocker panels pinch welds.

 

wish I still had that car, with that setup and the motor it sure made things a lot stiffer back there and would track better while racing. Didn’t ever worry about body roll or losing traction. What I loved about that setup was when you took off it would literally lower itself on the rearend and launch like crazy

 

Besides your sub frame connectors mount close to the rockers and are called frame stiffeners or similar. We don't have a subframe in the 3rd. I'm actually installing tomorrow.
