Just came from metal fabricator 74 year old said it's hard to find galvanized metal places after Obama EPA .

He said if it not excessive heat related Item .... Powder Coat it he said it bakes the paint onto the metal can last up to 20 years.

Just an Idea to share with anyone replacing a Rust prone part like T-top T-bars !

 

Powder coat might be wonderful in Florida, but it's about as bad as spray-on rubber undercoating in any part of the world north of the 38th parallel (that's over half of the US alone). You can verify that with any Toyota truck owner, Jeep owner, and a host of others.

As it has always been, good preparation is key to long finish durability. Baking on a plastic coat over dirty or contaminated metal is a recipe for failure.

 

I agree my in "excellent condition T-bar" is being lightly sand blasted and then Triple coated there will be zero Rust before the Process.
My guy is striping it to the bare metal.
