Door window tracks, paint before shaved door popper install
I am shaving my door handles and finaly got everything primed, as I get ready to fit the window tracks back into the doors, I noticed the tracks have some slight surface rust.
What would you guys paint this stuff with?
I use Eastwood products. I have rust encapsulator, as well as 2k epoxy primer. Open to any suggestions.

They all look like that. I've never seen one truly rust apart. They are some sort of galvanized metal. My 0.02 is to leave it alone. It won't rot out sitting in your door.

Yeah. They are for sure galvanized, but it just seems like poor practice to toss this back in without doing anything.
But I also agree that tossing it back in would be totally fine.
Think I will just lightly scuff any discolored areas with 180 or something like that, and use a sponge and apply a coat of rust encapsulator and call it good.
Slowly cleaning each piece with carb cleaner to get the 35 year old grease out before replacing it with new stuff.
