New Driver, Few Q's...

What's up, everyone? I just registered here, and I'd just like to let you know that I'm blessed with the initials "RS," and for my 17th birthday last month, I got a '91 Camaro RS. What better present is there? I mean, if my initials were IROC I'd be happier with one of those, but my name is "Ryan Seyersdahl," so what I got was best. Anyways, just a few Q's I've had on my mind lately...

1. I read somewhere earlier today that 4th gen. Camaro seats fit 3rd gen. seats. Is that true?

2. What kind of dashboard mat would work best? I know it's sorta common for older Camaro's dashboards to get cracked (since just about every person I know w/a similar car to mine has cracks), so mine has one big one on the driver's side. I want something to cover it. My friend has a real crappy one that slides around and pulls right up, so I'm looking for something better than that.

3. Is there any other (cheap) way to spice up my Camaro's inside? I've added in basic things to pretty it up (steering wheel cover, floormats, cupholders) but anyone can do that. Is there anything else I should know about? I want my car to be awesome (as in better than most). Nothing extreme, just a great looking interior for starts. lol

Thanks for any help!

Congratulations on your car and welcome to the boards!
Check out the tech articles and also do a search for interior-related stuff. You'll find lots of ideas and pictures.

Where could I find those at? I saw something "tech" on the mainpage, so that's probably it.

Thanks for the welcome! This message board is awesome. I ran my own for 3+ years but it just died recently, so I'm glad I've found a new home. Even tho' I don't have much time now that school's back in and I'm about to start a job, as long as it's for my car then I'm happy as can be. lol

Yes, fourth gen seats will bolt right into a thirdgen.

Another thing you can try to change the interior is white faced gauge overlays from www.macewen.net.

Anyway, welcome to the boards. If you have any questions, try the search button first, as many questions have been asked quite a few times before and you can find the answer in under 5 minutes. Have fun!

first of all welcome and great car. now with that out of the way what color is the interior and exterior of the car cause if there is none of the exterior color in the interior then i would try to bring some of that inside. also did the 91 RS come with the overhead console cuz if not those are real nice. new shift **** is also a good idea( manual or auto ). or you could go all out and put a 4th gen interior in but thats not to cost effective and quite a pain in the rear from what I hear

Well my car is teal, so there's none of that on the inside (darn). The inside is just black and grey, but I'm trying to keep it all black.

No overheard console. I coulda used that. And it's automatic (I don't mind, I haven't learned manual anyways).

Hopefully sometime down the road I'll get it painted a dark blue, or something similar. It's got lots of small scratches on it that aren't noticable from a distance, but up close they're easy to spot. So instead of just getting it touched up, I think I'll wait the while and get it painted. That'll probably be the biggest investment I make in this car.

So would switching out the seats for 4th gen seats be a bad idea, you think?

The seats will bolt right in like said but its the dash and center counsel that are the pain to install...but well worth the time...
