It's been 6 years since I last posted an update to this thread, and 8 years since I posted findings about several Firebird hoods. But I'm reviving this thread now to post about the infamous ISMA hood. Yes, the mythical hood IS still available. Here's a picture of the brand new one I just got for myself. But rather than flood this thread with pictures I've already posted on TGO, I'm linking the thread I created about it, which contains A LOT of pictures.
I really like this hood. It should have been factory. Can I have more information please?
it was available factory with the limited Bandit appearance package. Mine was just bolted to the stock Firebird hood. It had been installed by previous owner of car and was actually slightly crooked. If you have a stock hood and can find the scoop, it would be pretty easy to install.
I would vote for the power bulge hood. Which is funny when I was a kid I didn't like it because it was asymmetrical. Now I just think a Firebird looks like something is missing without the power bulge.
I'm a bit biased, but also the power buldge hood... My 91 Formula had a block off plate since it was TPI, but I acquired a honeycomb screen from an ealier TA, had it Chromed and plan to put a red LED Shift light in the engine bay to shine from behind it
