Permanent magnet starter (mini) & remote solenoid - don't mix

For reference: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=261591

Reader's Digest version: When the motor and starter solenoid are jumpered together (as is done with a remote starter solenoid), the motor turns into a generator when the engine starts. So, even though you've let off the starter switch, the starter solenoid is still getting voltage and therefore keeps the Bendix engaged. This was continuing for several seconds for me, and will wear out your starter quickly if you let it continue.

So, one or the other, but this is one case where "belt & suspenders" doesn't work.
