Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

between thanksgiving and christmas of 2008 I brought $1300 worth of stuff. I might have saved $100-150, mainly in free shipping or 10% off for 3rd gen members. but every bit helps.

Cmon guys and gals.

Post up thing u are thinking of buying or wishlist from hawks in a July- Aug time frame.

If there is enough people, hawks may give a discount which may help you with your Aug budget too.

Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

Loneroad, you live in St. Cloud by Disney? Youve done the LS1 swap already? I live in by Old Town, do you ever bring your car there on the weekends? Doing the swap soon myself and would like to see how yours turned out. I would purchase the headers too if we get this deal going. 15%-20% would be GREAT!

You can take me off the list. I was being facetious about the group buy already running in another thread, for a fiberglass wing.

6 more to go. but why dont someone contact hawks first, then it will be more legit. i think if hawks offers 20% off anything, there will be a lot of orders. i would buy more if that was the case.

Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

I would be in to purchase a bunch of $$$$ LS swap stuff (Headers, AC lines, etc...). However, due to the fact that this thread has been alive for 2 weeks with no response from Hawks themselves, I'm not very optimistic that this deal is going to happen.

I hope I'm wrong.

Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

Updated list here:

1. chriswenk - LSX swap stuff & headers
2. loneroad - headers
3. screeminchicken - headers
4. energycontacts
5. 88fastgta - Suspension stuff
6. StringRust - Suspension stuff
7. dynodanmanda79 - Headers
8. 87350IROC - Suspension stuff

Removed - Justin89Formy

Energycontacts - what stuff r u intrested in or what r u thinking of spending ?

I just send a PM to Bruce. I didnt want to do that until it reached 10, so please help keep this thread going. I know its been 2 weeks but many people dont frequent the GP part very often.

So If u guys frequent other forums/threads, pls make ur friends aware of this GP.

Also the guys on the list can u post up when u can commit to buy. Lets all shoot for early august. Making it too late will kill this thread. Start making arrangents on stuff you guys want to buy. whatever savings Bruce offers you guys can keep in ur pocket as a bonus.

Thanks all for the coperation

Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

screeminchicken, i want some LSX stuff. But it all depends on the discount he gives us. the more the discount the more i will spend. i want some front spohn coil-overs first. LSX headers. Ive got a camaro completely stripped apart...down to the floor pan, dashless, everything out the engine bay, complete bones. I need a lot, but ive got a budget to spend around $1000-$1500. i would hope that there will be more to come as i will be rebuilding more funds. i wish hawks or other retailer/manufacturers such as spohn, bmr, racecraft....would do gp more on a regular basis eg. black friday, 4th of july, labor day....one for every season basically. anyways for now, spohn coil over first and headers next.

Well...i think we are ready! Who's gonna contact Hawks? When BMR had the 30%, i bought $1000 worth of stuff. The only bad thing was there was tax since im in Florida like BMR, but Hawks is another state. Im ready to purchase.

Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

Ok......So I just talked to Bruce at Hawks. He said he is willing to work with us. He also said if we finds the time , he will post up to ensure he is ok with this thread.

We have not exactly reached 10 yet so keep drumming this up in other forums in TGO. that would be great help!!
Updated list here:
1. chriswenk - LSX swap stuff & headers
2. loneroad - headers
3. screeminchicken - headers
4. energycontacts - LSX swap stuff & suspension
5. 88fastgta - Suspension stuff
6. StringRust - Suspension stuff
7. dynodanmanda79 - Headers
8. 87350IROC - Suspension stuff
9. Justin89Formy - Minor Stuff

So this is what I want from you guys in a PM to send to Bruce so he can determine what kind of discount he can offer.
________________________________________________________

PLEASE ONLY SEND A PM to me. The sooner we get this organized, sooner we can find what discount we can get.

Also when u guys are putting this together, please dont make this a wishlist. Only add items u guys have already decided to buy in the next couple of weeks or so. I have seen GP die due to guys backing out.

Also consider whatever discount we get a bonus for us and just a motivation to spend our hard earned money on our beloved rides.

Thanks again for participating.

Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

Like I said before, I am only willing to buy if he is actually selling the Spohn options that I want. I don't see delrin bushings or del-sphere bushings as available on his website. These are available directly from Spohn. If he is not willing to offer these options, I cannot take part in this group purchase.

I had run into this situation before. Something offered by Spohn or UMI was not listed on the hawks website. But I called them up and Bruce was able to get them along with other items.

Can u PM me the item#, discription, price etc from the Spohn website.

Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

screeminchicken, what did Bruce from Hawks say exactly? Is he doing at least 10%? anything less would be pointless for me. i want the spohn front coil-overs and the LSX hedders. if he does 10% i just want the coil-overs, if he can do 20%, i want the coil-overs and LSX hedders. I will PM him anyways to see what he says.

and why would u think that ?

I did talk to bruce and I let everyone know what exactly he said. He needs to know what all stuff we are wanting before he can tell us what we can offer. He does need to make some profit u know.

I did say that there is a thread going on and would be great if he would post up something. He said he is too busy to get on here but will try his best.

Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

Thanks everyone for sending me the info by pm in the format requested.

I put the list together in a spreadsheet and send it to Bruce. I also called and talked to him directly and said that u should have the list ur inbox.

He said he will look at it and give me a call or email......So just now waiting.

The list totaled to $9.2K , so I am very optimistic that we will get a good deal.

So the waiting game begins.

But new guys if u are wanting to by stuff from hawks .....send me a PM with what u need in the correct format, I will keep adding to the list.

Thanks

Re: Beat the summer heat GP from hawks

After trying to get a hold of Bruce for the last couple of days, I got some news. He was working on some car.

Anyways........looks like the GP is a bust. The reason given was everyone on the list wanted only 1 qty of eact part #. They said its the same as a person buying directly from them , so a GP does'nt make sence to them.

Now dont shoot the messenger. We all tried and appricate the patience, effort and coperation. I guess I got Bruce on a very busy week. He has the list and I have pleaded with them to give a % discount like they did last Thanksgiving/Christmas. They said they will have a discussion with Bruce. So its still possible to happen!!

If anybody else wants to continue trying to work this , PM me and I will give the details of who in sales I was dealing with and the list I put together.

On the bright side, I might be able to pull off a pretty good discount on the 3" collector LS1 swap headers, since it was the only thing on the list that multiple people were buying.

PM me for details !!

screeminchicken,

No worries. We all appreciate your effort. I'll buy directly from the manufacturers if Hawks doesn't want to play.
