anyone have a car with the optional..
..camaro interior that says "Camaro" like a million times all over. My '92 says "Camaro" on one place on the seat but this option had it all over the seats and door panels etc.. If I remember right this was available in early/mid 80s (about '84) I believe. I've never actually seen one except in pictures. Is that option a plus?
I guess it leaves no doubt as to what kind of car it is.

Bandit400,
It seems like you got the Lear/Siegler conteur seats with that option back in 1985 and yes you knew what you were driving when you got inside.
If I had that option I would try and remove all those Camaro's inside everywhere like I did with my decals on the outside.
I think that option would be a plus.

You guys are talking about the L/S Conteur interior. It was available from 1983 to 1986. It was available in Charcoal/Red Orange, Blue, & Dk. Brown in 1983-1984. And Black, Saddle & Red in 1985-1986.

To add to David M's correct statement, the 1986 L/S Conteur seating did NOT come with the "CAMARO, CAMARO, CAMARO" upholstery as all previous years. By all standards, the 1986 Conteur seats used the optional custom cloth fabric -- kind of makes them the "stealth" Conteur seats....

That's it, "stealth" you have coined the word I was trying to do, just when I was taking off the decals outside of my car. I was just slightly behind of the interior. I went naked and was proud of it.

Here's a recovered L/S Conteur (bolster adjustments for seat, seat back, lumbar, and thigh. This one also has the six-way electric track).

JamesC,
Maybe they changed the seat for 1986. On a 1986 L/S seat in the Chevy Camaro brochure it looks like the controls for the seat are molded on the other side of the seat (By the shifter) and not down below like the controls are for your seat.

Raptoryfm66r,
John from RI was asking about the rarity of a factory seat such as the one you suggest. He mentioned he had located one of the few that had actually been produced. I believe the one I've pictured is the most common, though apparently there were at least two types of the Conteur--three if the one you mention is counted.

Yep, those are the ones. Thanks, guys.
I figure that cars that still have those original interiors would be pretty rare since most cars that old have been driven a lot and seats wear out. Also I doubt very many were produced to start with.

My Z has them in good condition (only 50K on the clock). Mine are fully manual though with the rear side bolsters/lumbar using a **** on the side(between the seats on the upper portion). The passenger seat doesn't have the thigh rest like the one pictured, but the driver's does(annoying if you use it IMHO). My fronts/rears/door panels have the lettering in alternating colors. Everybody that sees it thinks it is very unique(is that their way of telling me ugly?) Anyway, when I am back visiting MI in July, I will snap some pics of my ride's interior for reference.
