If you were just telling NEEDforSPEED there were no 1984 IROC's then I apologize for the novel, but the way you said it wasn't very clear.

LOL of course thats what I mean. The IROC-Z was an 85 car no matter when it was built.
82-84: Z28
85-87: IROC-Z and Z28
88-90: IROC-Z
91-92: Z28

there are no RPO codes on my z28 ("iroc")
the guy who owned it before me RE-painted the camaro.
and painted over all the RPO codes
and the RPO codes that would have been in the center consol are gone
same with the ones by/in the dash and vent and rear hatch
"So in other word's no RPO codes at all"
in less there are more place's to look but i no thats were GM put the codes in less other wise noted"

Absolutely, positively, NOT an IROC-Z. Decals are cheap and easily added. I wouldn't call it a clone, I'd call it a fake, and a bad one at that.
I'll bet you don't have 16" IROC wheels, hood with louvers, IROC dash emblem, or a wonderbar either. If it was me, I'd remove the decals right away. Be proud of your Z28, they are sweet cars in their own right.

I second that...my friend had a '91 Z28 with IROC logos on it...he bought it that way, and it looked stupid. I told him to take them off, but he wouldn't. He called it an IROC all the time, which was even more stupid!!
What was even worse was the fact that this was a factory 350 that had factory t-tops...but the car didn't come from the factory that way
The t-top assembly was welded on from another car. The blue paint under the t-top gaskets matched the blue paint on the back bumper that was found under the red paint the car was painted.
That's right folks, this car was cut in 2!!! Under the rear seats was a weld line...apparently someone welded on the back half of some blue car AND the t-tops too! No wonder it was a salavge title...poor car
And now the current 16 yr old owner wants to put a 383 TPI in it...like that structure can take that

No 84 IROCs...
IROC is the International Race of Champions, a racing series that runs about 4 races a year at large American oval tracks (Daytona, Talladega, etc.) with 12 drivers by invitation from major racing series driving identically-prepped "stock cars". Right now Pontiac has the contract and they're running Firebirds. IIRC Chevrolet got the contract to sponsor the races and therefore became licensed to use the name starting in the 85 model year. IIRC Dodge got it next in 91 and supplied Mitsubishi Eclipse bodies under whatever Dodge's private-label name is.
No features from the future are ever available like that. But as mentioned above, decals are cheap and easy. If the car is actually 84 model according to the VIN then there's no way it would have had the "IROC" option.

this was kinda funny...and has nothing to do with the post, except that they both include IROC
One time at school some guys were talking about an IROC Camaro. I happened to pass when they were commenting on why the cars were cut from the line. One guy made the Brilliant comment "The IROC's were too fast and the government banned them." with that....i had to stop and correct them about the whole IROC racing series.....they were surprised.

hahaha I have been hearing alot of good ones. Then they must of banned like lamborghinis(excuse spelling) Ferarris, and a whole bunch more cars, especially those eclipse's with cold air intake, those are faster then jets. HAHA theres like a 96 camaro around here, real fast, new cam, headers, exhaust, intake, everything and a kid in a black honda civic tried to race it. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Right Matt, that's it... the Mitsubishi Eclipse private-labelled for Chrysler as Eagle whatever, Plymouth whatever, Dodge whatever, it's all the same excrement... just like people buy their Isuzu Trooper from Honda and pay extra, or buy a Geo Prizm and save a couple $k off of the otherwise identical Toyota Corolla that rolls off the same production line, etc.

I know what cars you are talking about, the Eagle Talon, the Plymouth Laser, and the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Are you still saying that the Daytona was one of the re-badged DSM's? The way your reply reads I'm not sure if you're still saying the Daytona is, or is not a Mitsubishi. The Dodge Daytona was not one of these re-badged and re-trimed Mitsubishi cars. Here is a brief history of the 80s-90s Daytona's that I found;
The Daytona first debuted from Dodge in 1984 along with its look alike, the Chrysler Laser. Design was based mostly on the K-cars (Reliant and Aries), and retained the fuel efficient 2.2 liter 4 cylinder engine. The Daytona was mounted on an extended K-frame and had front wheel drive. The Daytona has always been a 3 door 4 seater, but the rear seats are very small and it should really be considered a 2 seater for all practical purposes, with its small 97" wheel base. These cars are known as 'G' cars because they were covered with the 'AG' body style.
