IROC-Z28 Emblems
IROC-Z28 Emblems
I have an dark red 89 IROC-Z28 with a 5.7 under the hood and was wondering if it is supposed to have the TUNED PORT INJECTION emblem on the back bumper, I found them on ThirdgenResources.com and was wondering first...if my car is supposed to have it...second if it is supposed to be the red "TUNED PORT..." or the silver "5.7 TUNED PORT..."
Thanks
Thanks
you should have the 5.7 one, but I think it's supposed to be the same color as your IROC sticker and stripes. My 86 and 89 have gold emblems/stripes/stickers. My friend's 88 has silver emblems/stripes/stickers

What color are the IROC-Z emblems and wording 5.7 Tuned Port Injection on the rockers?? I think it should be the silver 5.7 Tuned Port Injection, but you could really get whatever you like more here probably. www.classicindustries.com www.nextgenparts.com Try the sponsors also.
Stevez89IROC,
That is what is should say right the wheel, but you must have the 5.7 decal below it missing. I didn't even like my decals so I removed them.
I got out an old Motor trend from March 1990 and looked at a red IROC-Z. The emblems right behind the front wheels say IROC-Z and below that emblem it says 5.7 tuned port injection as a white decal.
When looking at the rear of the car to the left it has the silver 5.7 tuned port injection.
Now the car in Motor trend is a bright red car but from my recollection I only remember seeing silver emblems on the back and it should read 5.7 tuned port injection since that is what you have.
I guess if they make the 5.7 tuned port injection in a dark red it could be what you need. It must read 5.7 though and not just tuned port injection as mine does.

Steve, check your RPO label in the console you should have a code 89A that is your stripe code. Black/Brilliant Red, you should have the red "5.7 TUNED PORT INJECTION" and it's GM p/n 10096315 if you want one new from GM.
