In need of an opinion. Do you think it is worth it to sell a car whole that really only needs a few parts and some body maintenance (not rust)? or is it more profitable to part it out? Its an 86 iroc, lb9, with 110K+, etc. I know it would be terrible to wreck a viable car, but by the market I just don't know if I would make as much by selling it whole. Tell me there is hope.

i had a 1988 iroc-z 5.7 i paided 800 for it out of my pocket and i wrecked it a few months later and made a big profit from parting it out, not fixing it..

it had bent frame rails, the strut towers were pushed in alot..
not worth fixing something up that bad..

I feel it is always good to restore a classic thirdgen. but that just depends on how much you love the car.

Well my question was regarding making the most money. So selling whole and parting out both beat selling it for $100. Sorry.
Believe me, I'd like to keep this car. It was my first car and I've owned it for 8 years. Unfortunately, I have other things going on and I feel that it is a waste to let a perfectly good car go to waste in my driveway.
I could always use more money, so if it has to go I want to make the most that I can. Sadly it seems that it is worth more in parts.

How much would you sell it whole for? That will determine what your next move would be. It is a shame to part out any 3rdgen that is not damaged in my opinion.
