Just incase anyone has some money to burn, on sunday sept 1st they're auctioning off the last camaro to roll off the production lines for charity. Just thought it would be cool to see someone from this board get it.
What about the last Firebird? That would be worth ALLOT more considering they are bringing back the Camaro and not the Firebird....

plans are for the camaro to come back in 2005 i believe, hopefully.
and i thought teh last camaro off the production lines was going to the executives at gm or something like that, or is the last camaro to be available to the public?

Actually the last Camaro ever produced was a fully optioned red convertible that will be going into A museum. The car mentioned in this post is the last camaro available for sale to the public. The last firebirs was made just before the last Camaro and is also destined for the same museum.

This is an email I received from Scott Settlemire from Chevrolet...
Good afternoon, all --
I announce this with very, very mixed emotions............
I've had many, many requests over the past year from fellow enthusiasts asking to purchase the last Camaro off the line at Ste. Therese. The last car off the line will be a bright rally red Z28 convertible that will go into the Chevy Historic Collection for the public to enjoy for generations to come. The "next to last" car off the line is a matching Trans Am Convertible....also going into the Pontiac Historic Collection.......
With that said......we are offering the public the chance to bid on the "Last Saleable Camaro in the United States" -- with all proceeds going to a very worthy cause -- "Students Against Violence Everywhere."
I attached a link to a PDF that Scott also sent outlining the car. Here's the link.

I saw it on the news 2 days ago.GM Factory is closed here in Montreal and GM workers were talking about boycotting GM.They talked about the last firebird and i remember seeing brown T/A at the background coming out of the production line.
Just an update. I heard the car sold at the Kruse Auction in Auburn, IN for $71,500 to a dealership in Michigan. Long live the Legend!
I don't think it was auctioned off. I haven't heard about it anyway.
has anyone heard what the camaro for auction went for?
