Yeah, option packages.

For instance, in '89:

FZAB: (base) UM7 Radio

FZA1: (Group 1) A01, B84, TR9, UA1, UM7

FZA2: (group 2) Same as FZA1, plus AU3, A90, B34, B35, CD4, C60, K34, N33, and UM6 in place of UM7

FZA3: (group 3) Same as FZA2, plus AG9, A31, DG7, DC4, D42, TT4, UX1, no UM6

Look up the codes HERE

In 1987, GM started offering option packages. Prior to that you could pretty much mix and match. In 87 there were 3 option levels. From 88-90 there were four, as Saywhut's example.

can anybody state the 4 different option codes in 88? I have an IROC with no RPO sheet but would love to know what option level it had just by looking up the RPO's.

Check the center console and the locking area in the hatch for the spid sheet.

Alright according to those codes I have at least a Group 2 IROC, the only things that would make mine not a group 3 are teh courtesey lights and rear locking storage, but are these two RPO codes void when dealing with a vert (which is what i have)?? btw the reason i asked for these codes was because my SPID sheets aren't in the car, they were taken out because the previous owner tried to pass it off as a 350 by sticking badges on it.

The FZA coges are for coupes.

The codes for 1989 convertibles are:

CZAB: UM7

CZA1: AO1, B84, UA1, UM7

CZA2: same as CZA1, plus AU3, B34, B35, CD4, C60, K34, N33, UN6, less UM7

CZA3: same as CZA2, plus AG9, A31, DG7, TT4, UX1, less UM6

If you're referring to TR9 as courtesy lights, I think that's the RPO for Fog Lites.

RPO D42, is the rollup rear compartment cover in a hatchback. Sounds like you have a CZA3, like mine.
