Could you get an Iroc with the LG4
Just wondering if they ever put those in the Iroc's. I know some had the TBI instead of the TPI. Also was it possible to get a Iroc with a drum rear?

So is the Iroc package more or less a handling package? My car has all the upgraded factory suspension and steering parts (wonder bar, big sway bars, stiffer springs, quick ratio steering box), but came with a LG4 and drum brakes.
My car also has fog lights, were they available on the Z28's as well or only the Irocs? Just wondering what all the "Iroc package" entitles you to

My car originally LG4/IROC what an oxymoron.

It depends, in the case of the LG4, its only a suspension package. But you could only get the L98 350 with an IROC, not Z28 until 1990 when the IROC was phased out. So if you checked the right option boxes it could add a lot of engine performance.

Now my car also came from the factory with the BOSE setup (kick panel speakers and rear hatch speakers) is this part of the Iroc trim package as well or could you get this with the Z28 or base model?

No, Bose is a seperate option, available on other camaros. Sounds like the original owner spent his money on the stereo instead of the drive train.
I'm assuming you have an 87? What option level does it have? 1, 2, or 3?

Yes the car is an 87' and I really don't have any idea what option level it was. Some things sound like they belong on a Iroc and some things don't. How can I find out what it is? Unfortunatly the console was changed so I don't have the correct RPO codes. I did happen to find a build sheet under the carpet in the rear seat area which I am pretty sure is original, but its pretty faded.

....Fog lights were part of the package and werent available on the Z's.
Must make a correction. The fog lamps were part of the IROC-Z option (1985 - 1987) and the IROC-Z model (1988 - 1990), we all know this. We most of us don't realize is that the fog lamps were an option on the 1986 SPORT COUPE and Z28 ($60) and part of two option packages in 1987:
1) LT Option Package #4 (RPO 1SD)
2) Z28 Option Package #3 (RPO 1SC)
I happen to be the lucky owner of a 1987 Z28 with 1SC (yes, it has fog lamps). Oh my, it's also a convertible too!!

I believe that your car is an Iroc. Some of them could have surprisingly few options.
option level 1= no power options
option level 2= PW, PL, PH, floor mats and some other stuff.
option level 3= everthing in option level 2 + power seat, power mirror, criuse, automatic mirror.
I think a Bose stereo with the LG4 is kind of unusual, tell us more about your car.

For 1987 the 16-inch tires were an IROC-Z exclusive. Look for the tire decal on the driver's side inner door. If it lists the P245-50VR/16 tire, you've got an IROC-Z. If it lists the P215-65R/15 tires, it's a Z28.

The doors on this car are not original, so I can't match that sticker to this car. The car had a LG4 which also had an intank electric pump, I found that when I droped the tank and hear this is rare and only done in 87. It had a 700R4 trans. I know it had a drum rear, but I don't know for sure if the one that was in the car is original because it had a 3.42 ratio. The gears were GM though. It has the big sway bars and the springs are stiffer. I compared them to the ones on my RS and the coils were larger in diameter. It also had a wonderbar, quick ratio steering box with the big "Z" stamped on it, and GM Delco bilstein shocks, the ones that were yellow with a black dust boot. Inside it had the Bose setup with the baffles put where the regular 6x9's would go. It also had the fog lamps, A/C, and T-tops. Also it has power windows, locks, and hatch that had a rear defroster. I don't know if the seat is original but it isn't power. It also didn't have stock wheels so I don't know what it came with. If there is anything else I could mention that I didn't just ask and I will check it out. I learn more about these cars everyday.

Actually, there were no 90 Z28s, IROCs went away in '91.

Although, one with the turbo Buick 6 would have been kind of cool.
