Info on 1992 firebird formula
Hello,
I just recently bought a 1992 firebird formula with 22k miles on it and I was wondering how many were made. It has T-tops, the 5.7, red ext with grey int, and the 700R4 tranny. I appreciate any help. This forum seems great, cant wait to get to know some of ya'll.

I appreciate all the help, and I am really happy with the car so far. I was browsing ebay today and noticed that the car I bought was actually up for auction on ebay as well. I bought it locally from a guy here in Richmond, VA. Here is a link to it:

Very nice ride and as they said, very rare too. They made 1,052 formulas in 92. I wish I could tell ya how many were 350 t tops but from everything I've read pontiac didn't keep track of option combination production numbers.

92GTA when did you get the hawk???? If there is one car in this world I could own it would be that one right there. It's one of my many dream cars, but definitely at the top of the list. Very sweet ride.

Well,
Approx. 1330 Total Formulas were made in '92
From what I have read, a little less than a third would have been L98's.

1992 Formula
Hey!
I like it as well, but that stereo has to be some serious bread as well..why pull it?!
According to the Firebird Redbook, there WERE 1,052 Formulas made, but no number is given for T-top options or for Formula converts. Total bird production is 25,180.
T/A converts were only 663. GTAs were 508.
The 5.7 option cost $1045 for the Formulas and less in a T/A or GTA.
The new price for the 92 Form.... $16,205 USD. The converts were even under $20K (according to Peter's book)

The stereo does have a fairly good amount of money in it, but it just sounds like crap. It is a RF modulated CD changer only, which isnt the greatest in clarity. So I am just going to swap out the equipment in there with some extra stuff I have laying around (I am a huge car audio nut, so I got a fair amount laying around.) Nothing that extreme just one 10 sub, a new HU with XM, a 5/6 channel amp, and a set of componets in the kicks.
I am thinking about making this my daily driver but I am not sure yet. Its just so much fun to drive, I hate just letting it sit there. What do ya'll think?

I say enjoy it! Drive the wheels off of it!
I'm about to pick up a black '92 Formula (305, t-tops) at the end of the week....high mileage (150,000) but in AMAZING condition. The way I see it, that's what rebuilds are for
Congrats on the find, take good care of it!

Congrats on the new car beauty man ! Nothing like a low mileage 3rd gen.
hey I'd sell the stereo and buy headers and a 4 inch exhaust with the money you get. IMO small-block-chevy sounds better than any stereo anytime.
my .02 cents worth,
RP.
