Well the fact that its salvage is a big question. U defenitely need to go out, and hopefully find the car so u can test drive it yourself. Looks like he didnt put the miles, probably very high, but then again the price of the car is not high so it compensates.

Bottom line is u have to check the car out yourself, but from that info at autotrader, it looks like its in good shape, but its only one pic, from one angle.

Hope it turns out to be good though, be nice to have another proud thirdgen owner.

Cheap is good, but a salvage car is bad news. You may get "in the door" easier, but you'll never be able to sell it.

You're better off with a high-mileage car than a salvaged one.

Basically it can mean that the car has been wrecked & repaired or stolen & recovered or even flooded. It's what happens when the car gets totaled by an insurance company.

Even so, once a car is wrecked it's never the same.

I would definitely ask about the salvage history. remember, salvage does not always mean it has been killed in a wreck. It may be a recovered theft (thirdgens were once the most stolen car in America) or something silly. Insurance companies will deem a car a "total loss" at 70% of the value, regardless of how it happened. My 92 Z was a total because the ins. co. thought the engine was knocking after it bottomed out. It really crushed the exhaust, causing it to pop back through the exhaust. Result: I got a cheap 92 Z28, with no damage and a salvage title. You may not be as lucky as I was, but I wouldn't rule the car out without a good reason. Besides, $2800 for any good running/driving car is not bad, especially for a GTA.
