'93 thirdgen??
'93 thirdgen??
this kid that i used to go to school with was telling me last year that he was going to buy a camaro. i said 'great, what year?' he goes '93, it looks just like yours'. i said 'no, i'm pretty sure it doesn't.' so we argued for a little bit and then he asked one of his friends (who's parents bought him a beautiful '98 trans am - he had no idea what he had, sold it...), and he told me that in '93 they still made thirdgen camaros.
anybody know when they actually started making fourth gens?
i might have posted this before, like i said this all happened about a year ago, but i forget...

Perhaps this kid is referring to the year in which they took "possession" of the car. Remember that the new model cars always go on sale in the fall of the preceeding model year. People frequently mistake the model year with the year when they bought.
The question could be: When did the 4th gens roll out to the public? I would think that the 4th gen went on sale a little earlier in 92 as a brand new redesigined model.
If the last 92 rolled off the line in Aug 92 ( a bit late due it being the last ) and the 4th gen came off the line early out of the Montreal plant, than it's conceivable that production overlapped as the same plant was not producing both.
Somebody please set us straight on this.

strangly enough, I have seen dealers trying to sell a 1993 third gen, and according to some pontiac literature the 4th gen firebirds were actually 1993 1/2 item I dunno, they might exist, but I seriously doubt it. look at the 10th didget in the vin it will tell all..

I know this proves nothing other than Pontiac must have their head up their butt...

As if to rub salt in the wound of having no F-body anymore, on one of GM's financing websites or something, I saw a listing for a "2003 Firebird" .. which is funny, since it does not exist.. what schmucks

The Error is interesting, its not like they have 1982-1993 and 1993 - 2002, Actually having 1993 1/2 indicates to me that it was quite intentional.
All other information leads me to believe that its subposed to be 1982-1992, but this really makes me scratch my head and go "hmm."
