Iron Duke Firebird in 83 issue of Hot Rod Mag!

Super Bird article! I bought this old mag at an antiques shop in our local mall.....interesting article.

Gives me some interesting ideas for my firebird.

I guess the Iron Duke wasn't that bad after all. I first thought this was a v8 powered race car but I was half right.

Interesting isn't it!

I'd love to have that car. I would like to make mine look the same but I have no where near the $$ to do that.

I would have like to have seen that car in person. I wonder if it is still around or if its been scrapped.

close but not quite an iron duke. The SD4 was a totaly different design that has made as much as 400 Hp. If you go to fiero.nl and search for SD4 you will get tons of info. But if you want to see what the Duke can do. Then do a search for BIG BAD DUKE. a guy used an older Nova 4cly crank and made over 200 HP. Not bad for half of a Pontiac 301 V8.

it's a neat article bill, and the 4 cylinder stuff is neat, but i don't care for the body kit one bit.

the fenders bulge out too much for my tastes, and the doors don't blend in very well.

i like the wheels though

i wonder how much weight that lexan hatch trims off the back end, and the way they lowered the front is very interesting... raising the strut mounts? hmm.

good find!

I wouldn't mind having that dash panel. Do you need a factory dash to pass safety requirements?

That body kit looks something like this one by motion Glass.
