No idea but the current bid is only 202.50 dollars. Hell id buy it just for fun if i lived near the seller.

 

It could be firebird S/E.It has 2 color S/E dash.

 

I used to own an S/E so I noticed the two color interior peices but that can't be what he is saying is limited edition.......

I wonder if it is just one of those regional dealer made editions like the SSA or XS firebird or something.....

That makes sense i'm pretty sure it's something like that.Probably they were taking the base s/e from the factory, v6 engine, dash without the rpm gauge, no rear spoiler maybe a radio delete.Then put some stripes and wings + some profit then call it a special edition.

 

That's no S/E. That is a base bird with some pin stripes and a strange wing.

 

What are the other differences other than the dash with s/e?I think rims are different butt he guy says he changed it.I know s/e has v6 option.What made you think it is not an s/e?The reason i'm asking is just to educate myself about s/e.I had one 4 years ago.I blew the engine on a highway and towed the car to the small town mechanic.I wanted to get a new engine for it but the guy tried to screw me and it was too much trouble to bring the car in town so i scrapped it.It had really clean interior.It was really stupid to leave those parts for the junkyard it's really hard to find those pieces for 82-84 firebird-t/a's.

 

AFAIK all s/e's had full gauges standard no idiot lights

if its an 84 its not a ssa or xs because they were only made in the middle of the 89 modle year.

Limiteds for 84 where Recaro T/A's and 15th Anniversary only...all other claims are bogus and unsubstantiated.

The 84 Recaro is perhaps the most limited of all T/A's built EVER but dont tell anyone...its a secret....nobody really knows for sure.

 

As I recall this link was about the Firebird 500. Not sure about the history, but there have been other threads about it. It is a real limited edition Firebird.

 

Yea, there was a Firebird 500 in 1984. I dont know how official the car was, I can check my build sheet but I dont think there is any RPO for it. They made them in 1983 as well.
