I don't know if I'm gonna be of any help here, but I do know that when I looked mine up, I couldn't find a lot of them at first because when I looked in the car and wrote them down, I did it pretty quickly, and well...Look again, a lot of the 1's and L's look alike, and the 2 and Z's and so forth...

I triple-checked these codes and they are spelt correctly.

FA1 FA2 GA1 GA2

I have the same codes for my 86 SC. Anyone else have them?

I am sure there is an RPO code decoder on this website. There is also a VIN decoder too.

I'm still itching to find these. I think they have something to do with the suspension or the rear end.

These codes are absolutely 100% without a doubt not typos. And we can't seem to find them anywhere.

FA1 is Assembely at Fairfax Plant, at least for other platforms. And seeing how RPOs were common across carlines there's no reason to doubt it here.

The rest I can't find.

Considering thirdgens were assembled in either Norwood or VanNuys, I don't think that's the correct assumption.

Hey, didn't say it was right, but its the only listing for FA1 I could find anywhere.

Only thing I said is that RPOs were common across the carlines, I've never heard of the same code meaning different things on diff cars from the same period.

I'm thinking those codes on an F-Body may be computer error or incorrect entry from an operator.

FAI is Fairfax
NOD is Norwood
VAN is Van Nuys

Based on their placement alphabetically, I'm pretty sure these codes have something to do with the suspension or the rear end; possibly some kind of code for the struts and shocks like we have 6XW, 7XW, 8PJ and 9PJ for the springs.

Hopefully nick's contact can find something.

Update: thanks to deadbird in another post, we've been able to confirm that GA1 and GA2 are related to the rear end. No specifics yet.

A quick search would tell you that YA7 = TEST, EMISSION, CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY LINE. This thread is for FA1 FA2 GA1 and GA2 though, hijacker.
