The diagnostic thingy.... cover?
The diagnostic thingy.... cover?
I am uncertain of the name (brain bank drawing a blank), but the part where you plug into to run diagnostics/etc, under the drivers side dash on the right. Was there ever a plastic face cover for this thing?
Just curious....

Thanks. I read that post, just didn't read after that information was posted.
Any idea where to get them? I've never seen them at a junkyard, and I've never run across them on ebay. (never really looked either). But I'm excited to see that there was something there... a little too excited... of course I'm not feeling well.

edit: found one on ebay, but not for the one that's for 350's.

Have you tried Trans Am Creations? They have just about everything.

I ordered one from House of Camaro. It's only a couple of bucks and makes the dash look alot better. The owner is a real pleasure to do business with. He posts here now and then.

There's one on eBay:

I don't know what the big deal is though, it's not something you can really see and I like the functional look of having the connector like that. I drove around without a center console and dashpad for a while and had a blast.

It all depends which one you need. If you need them, contact your local dealer. Mine was missing and I needed the form fitting one. They cost $3,25 at the dealer and are still available. I've seen them used and on Ebay for upwards of $10.
Like an idiot, I took mine off when I got the car to do some code pulling and forgot where I put it.

Anyone knows the GM part number of this cover for an '88 firebird?
