1987 GTA 350 TPI not running. Assistance needed please

Hello everyone i was wondering if any of you could assist me in pricing a 1987 Trans Am GTA. 1st off the car has been sitting in the car port for 4 years. Let me run off a list of what I saw was wrong when i looked at it.

Paint
NO A/C
Needs brakes (pads rotors)
both right side tires flat
Torn drivers seat
headliner
rear view mirror fell off
Steering wheel tilt broke
a rust spot on the rear hatch about 5-7 inches long
the head light motors are shot
Radiator was dry as a bone

It doesnt run. I was going to try to get it started, atleast fire it off, but the man selling it didnt want me too, so im kinda on the fence. One other thing, the interior was moist and smelled like mold. I lifted the driver side floor mat and mold was growing under it. Could this be from sitting in the car port un opened for 4 years? Like the moisture came in throught the AC vents and what not? The car isnt out in the weather, so im a little confused. I dont know if the power locks or power windows work. The body seems like its in good condition i didnt notice any rust. The man was aking 1500 for the car, but i think thats a little steap. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you

AW

I would stay away from a car that the owner won't let you start. This car probably is a nightmare. Not worth the $1500 he's asking.

Don't worry about insulting him. He basically insulted your intelligence by asking $1500 for a piece of junk.

I have a friend in NJ that was recently looking at a 97 Brickyard 400 Camaro. There were only 50 of these made. The car he was looking at was completely beat. It needed body work and a repaint. Somebody just sprayed the car with white spray paint to cover up scuffs. The car is rare and could be worth alot someday, but the current owner totally disregarded what this car was and is. He told my friend that he would sell it to him for nothing less than $15k. I told my friend that $3500 was too much!!

I have to agree with everyone else. 1500 is way too much for a car that the owner won't let you start. Granted I bought my 1988 IROC-Z for 500 bucks and it had a dead battery and was missing an oil cooler line that he cut off to use on his truck. IMO, however much you think the car is worth is the price you should give him. 700 bucks sounds ok but still might be a little bit to pay for it. Tell him that for you to be very interested, it needs to be started and run until it hits operating temp, and if you're lucky, to take for a quick test drive.

If the floors were wet there is a good chance the floor pan is rusted out, check that out too. 1500 is way too much. for 1500 you can get a decent 3rd gen. just look on autotrader.com. tell that guy to come down on his price or youll forget about buying it from him

my advise call him up and tell him you reconsidered and are extremely interested and do to the fact he wants to sell it give him a new offer of $300 bucks without letting you run it, but if he lets you run it and take it for a quick spin you might think about going as high as $600.

just play it as the boss remember hes your B!tch trust me he'll let you fire it up and take probably $800
