Delco-Lock II De-Activate

ok, I picked up a Factory CD deck for my car(89-94) style, and according to my owners manual it shows how to enter a code in to turn it on, and how to re enter a code.. But I mainly want to know how do you de-Activate it.. and if the code was lost how does one go about getting it de-activated? (Fortunatly the one I got is not enabled)
Thanks

I think you have ti first enable it. If you want it turned off just do the same thing you did to turn it on to turn it off and that should disable it, at least that is how it is done on my 99 GMC Envoy.

what about de-activating it if it's locked, and you don't know the code.

i think u might be sol then, since most people would think that someone inquiring about deactivating without knowing the code, stole it, when infact they havent, u could always try GM

I've never tried this and don't even know if it works. But I got this off the fourth gen list a few years ago.

TO OBTAIN RADIO DISPLAY BACKUP CODE

1. Press and hold presets 2 and 3 for 6 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed.
"123"

2. Write the numbers down.
"123"

3. Press the AM-FM button. The next 3 digits of the code are displayed.
"456"

4. Write the numbers down.
"456"

If the display reads "INOP" the radio must be powered up for 1 hour before the backup code can be displayed.

You now have a scrambled backup code, you must call your local GM dealer to get the unlock code.

TO UNLOCK RADIO

1. Press the HR (hours) button
"000"

2. Set the first two digits (0-19) of the code with the HR button.
"1200"

3. Set the next two digits (0-99) of the code with the MIN (minutes) button.
"1234"

4. Press the AM-FM button to enter the code. Radio is unlocked and the clock is displayed.
"1:00"

if they charge that in the US I'd hate to see what they charge in Canada.
