How Rare?
Ok a camaro is a sports car.... right?. Anyways, I consider a sports car a standard V8 with T-tops. Well my question is how rare is a 6-5speed 305 or 350 camaro with T-tops?
P.S. I'm looking on getting one for under 2G's

I believe there were twenty something (26 or so ) made. I doubt you'll find one for that amount of money, which is about enough to get an average one of these cars in average condition. You probably won't even get a run-of-the-mill car in running condition from the years that would have had one of those special vehicles for what little you say you're willing to pay.
People do swap 6-speeds into these cars, and you can find those from time to time; considering that it's about a $1500 swap mimimum, again I doubt you'll find anybody willing to gift you their car.
I suggest you either come up with more money (ALOT more) or adjust your purchase goals to be in line with reality.

There are not many 6 speeds out there but there are many 5 speed v8, 305 and v6's to pick from. You could prolly get a decent rust free one for that price.

I want a 91-92 Z28 305 5spd with t-tops, the only one I found so far was $8500, but only had 30k on it. I would even settle for an RS, but they still arn't easy to find. The ones I do find are either way out of my price range, or in need of alot of work, and usually overpriced for what they are.
After looking around, i'm thinking more about trying to find a cheap one (cheap being $1500-$3500 depending on the shape), and fixing it up. Looks like thats the only way i'm going to get a nice one without overpaying.

Yup, 5-speeds are commonplace. Common even with T-tops. I got stuck on the 6-speed part. My bad.
My car (83 HO Z28) is a 305 5-speed T-tops with 3.73 gears. They're out there.
Don't settle for a RS if you really want a Z28. There's alot of difference. You'll spend more than the difference in proce, trying to turn a grocery-cart into a performance car.

The difference between my LG4 and my TPI car in Insurance is $100 a year, Both the same year, and all, I would think that its worth it starting with the little hotter engine, considering that there is little difference...
As for a Z28 and the SC, of the same year, If they both had the same engine (IE the LG4 then the insurance would be the same) My insurance company has no clue that if its a Base model or not, if I am not mistaken the VIN is the same for either, thats what they look at... BUT when you take a T/A and comapare it to a Base firebird or a Formula, the TA will have higher insuramce because it has a different VIN...

PLEASE keep in mind that there are MANY factors to consider about Insurance, Age, Sex, THe state you live in, Your insurance company etc etc... Contact them and see what the difference would be, For me it was minimal, but I know if I went up to the 350 then its considerably more. Also the newer the car the higher it seems to be.
Your best bet might be to get some mock VIN's and ask them to chech what it would cost for each.
I say its only $100 difference, But the difference is about 15%, I am 30 with a squeeky clean record (knock on wood) married, and the car is only driven as pleasure. I think its $700 and $800 for the cars, full coverage, But if the one car was $1400 then the other would more than likely cost $1600 to insure, make sence, its all reletive. I think a 350 car was about another 15% more than that... They quoted me the wrong engine once and I was rather disturbed, then they told me they punched the wrong VIN.
ALSO if you get a really nice car, get an appraisal from a respectable source, My Formula would have been totaled at $1500, now I have 11,000 insurance on it and my insurance is the same, but I would get more from it if something were to happen to it. In a few years you will be able to get collector car insurance on it through Hagerty Insurance. Then Insurance is really inexpensive, but your kind of limited to driving it to shows, parades, special events, but they say you can take it out on the town, I am not sure how leanient they are, I am pretty sure driving it to work is out tho.

BTW, I have almost $20K in a car thats probably not worth more than $5000 to most people here. But find me one in as good of condition and with the exact same options, you won't.

Technically speaking the Camaro and Firebird fall under the "Pony Car" classification. Its not quite a Muscle car, because its too small, but a Sports car does not technically have a back seat, so were in limbo. Unfortunately the term Pony comes from the Mustang, but the shoe fit so were stuck with it. "Sport Compact" is another story altogether, and were not that either...

I spoke to the insurance company out of curiosity. State farm told me a z28 and it won't affect my insurance, and neither will a recent speeding ticket.
Right now i'm paying $1200 a year, thats under my parents policy, with a discount for the air bag, ABS (no idea why but i'm not about to correct them), and I get $1000 a year off because i'm away at college, so $2200 a year normally at 18. My parents have 4 cars (1 each, myself, and my sister) and there homeowners with state farm, so I guess they like us or somthing.
So now its z28 with a 5spd and t-tops hunting time
