1985 IROC 5.7 5spd
I have just seen a 1985 IROC 5.7 for sale on E-Bay. Maybe the rumors of 1985 350 TPI's are not rumors after all. Check it out, still 6 days of bidding left.
Vin # 1G1FP87H1FN101259 Green Metallic.
Might be the rarest 3rd gen ever.

Guess it is still a rumor.

Larry,
You've got the proof right in your hands, the VIN. The eighth digit is the engine code:
H = 305 carb (RPO LG4)
The rarest third gen ever? That's funny.... The LG4 is the base engine.

lg4? in an IROC, I didnt know that was possible, once again I learn something new. I thought Z/28s and IROCs got at least the L69 (which in my opinion is way cooler than TPI even tho I have one)

I think I'll make another sticky...
Guys,
The base engine in the 1985 - 1987 Z28 was the 305 carb (LG4) with or without the IROC-Z option. In 1988 and 1989, the 305 TBI (which replaced the LG4) became the base engine in the IROC-Z. Only in 1990 did the 305 TPI become the base engine in the IROC-Z and carried over onto the 1991 - 92 Z28.
